4 Stars much better than standard battery
This battery should have came with the Canon HG20. I can record for about 3 hours using this battery. I never ran it down so that is just going on the battery meter on the camera’s LCD for remaining battery life. It does stick out the back of the camera because it has more battery cells but it is the same color as the camera and only sticks out a few millimeters. It doesn’t get in the way so don’t worry about that if you have read that it sticks out. The battery life is great but Canon shouldn’t make you pay the exorbitant price for it to get it separately. They should either reduce the price or include it as a substitute to the standard battery which only provides about 1.5 hours of operation. Again, as with my other reviews, only 4 stars because of the price, which is very high.
5 Stars Great external charger
This is an excellent alternative than with the in-camera charging or if you have multiple batteries you can charge your extras with this one. I have a total of 3 batteries for my HF100 and this will be a godsend when traveling. Charging batteries with this unit is faster than the vidcam itself.
5 Stars Handy Charger
Nice, small, compact charger to keep my backup battery ready to use. LED lites show charge status and plug folds into back of charger, no wire to tangle. Highly recommended.
5 Stars Canon CG800 Charger Review
I am a satisfied owner of this charger. It is simple to use, recharges my camcorder batteries in a timely fashion and best of all, it’s about the size of a small bar of soap. The power plug folds into the charger when necessary making the charger very easy to pack. It weighs practically nothing too.
5 Stars Canon Charger
This charger allows you to recharge canon battery/s without using your camcorder as the charger. Very handy, but pricey. Takes about 90 min to charge the std. BP-809 battery.

5 Stars Reliable Friend
I bought the Canon LP-E5 battery because I was going on an important photo trip and didn’t want any issue with quality. This battery did not fail me. In fact, it went longer than stated. I’ll stick with this battery in the future rather than use second rate batteries.
5 Stars Canon Battery
Received as ordered, competitive price & works fine. Was on time so am very satisfied.
5 Stars Good battery, but you may as well get the Bag kit.
The battery itself is a commodity and runs up to $70 bucks, so you may as well get the Canon Rebel EOS (or your model) bag kit with Battery and filter. It cost at minimum $99, but the bag is waterproof and durable. I knew a secondary battery would be needed, but after checking the prices and realizing I need a bag it was a no brainer.
5 Stars Right on time. Thanks.
Thanks for getting this to me right when I needed it. I will keep you in mind for future purchases.
5 Stars Great battery life!
I bought this as a spare for my Canon Rebel XSI. I can take over 500 pictures no sweat without even considering swapping for a backup battery. Also the battery charge last for a while.

This battey will not show time indicating on your LCD monitor. This battery does not charge with your original charger, you must charge this battery with the charger included in this package

4 Stars It works!
O.K., you can’t find the Canon LP-E6 for your 5D Mark II without getting hosed big time by the supplier. This 7.2V 1800mAh Li-ion battery will do the trick until Canon gets its act together.
It appears well-made and identical to the Canon LP-E6. It powers the 5D Mark II nicely. That said, you should know:
1. DO NOT use the Canon charger–it will ruin the battery. Use the included charger. I labeled my battery AND charger so there will be no mix-up with the batteries.
Battery comes without a charge, but charges quickly. They recommend letting the light go green for two hours before first use.
2. Since there is no internal microchip, you can’t check the power level of the battery in the field–not even on the camera’s top LCD panel!
That said, the battery only costs [...] bucks as opposed to being gouged for $[...] plus, and it doubles the 5D Mark II’s already impressive capacity in the field.
3 Stars shipped timely, doesn’t support battery level indication in Canon 5D mark II
Works just fine, except that this isn’t compatible with my Canon 5D Mark II’s battery indicator. There must be a chip that Canon puts in their battery so that the camera can read the charge level or something. So, I don’t really know when I’m getting low on battery with this one. However, it is much more affordable than the Camera battery, and this is working just fine as a backup battery.
4 Stars You’d be a fool (or rich) not to buy two of these…
PROS
====
1. Beyond Inexpensive…
2. Works Wonderfully!!
3. Impeccable battery life for the price
4. Works as a back up battery charger (it’s supposed to charge the ‘genuine’ canon LP-E6)<--will I ever test it to find out? Only if I have to...
CONS
====
1. Doesn’t communicate with the camera –> A. no battery meter to tell you how much power is left / B. you can’t use the ‘battery memory’ options…(i.e. – the camera won’t remember the battery and how much charge is left should you pull it out and reuse it later) <--see your manual if you don't know what I'm talking about here.
2. You can’t use the standard battery charger…it will ruin the battery.
Conclusion
==========
Please read the title of this review again…
Yeah, I mean it…this battery really packs some good power. I mean, it really performs equally to the LP-E6. So you loose the convenience of knowing how much charge you have left. Not a big deal, just charge before you go and pack a spare…
Better yet, buy two of these batteries, compared to buying the genuine ones..you’ll be able to afford the generic battery grip – that’s where this battery shines…(in pairs)
(Zeikos ZE-CBG5DII Battery Grip for Canon 5D II) <-- be sure to check out my review of the battery grip...
I don’t mind not knowing how much power I have left as long as I know I have a ton of power. It’s kind of like having a broken fuel gauge on your car. Just fill up regularly (recharge) and keep track of your miles (power consumption) you’ll never have a problem…I haven’t yet.
I’m thinking of getting four, I’ll never run out of power!!
(I would have given 5 stars if this battery communicated with the camera) <--P.S. -- buy this item from BargainCell, you won't be disappointed in their service.

5 Stars Works as good as the battery that came with the camera
This battery seems to perform the same as the official Cannon battery that came with the camera. recharged it several times and it’s great. Length of battery usage is the same, charge time is the same. I’ve had replacement batteries for other Cannon cameras before and I kept going back to the Cannon battery even though they’re more expensive. This one seems fine and no reason to pay the extra $$$.
5 Stars A wise choice
I was hesitant to buy a backup battery for the camera, but I am so glad I did. I used it the first outing I went on with the camera and it seemed to work even a little better than the original battery. That is not to say the original battery was not good, but it was great to have a backup and it worked flawlessly.
5 Stars No problems
I bought this battery as a spare for my Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. It works just fine – no problems so far.
5 Stars works better than canon battery
this digipower battery last longer than my canon battery that came with the camera and it much less expensive. great buy!!
5 Stars Super Value
I ordered two of these for less than half the price of one O.E.M. unit from Sony or Sony Authorized retailer!
They seem to work just as well. I’ve charged just one and put the other one away for future use. I cannot see/tell any difference from the original Sony battery!
Buy it!

2 Stars got what you paid for
Fully charged it after some use of it already and seems as if it has the memory effect. The XSi camera’s battery icon shows it has at least half of the juice left before the camera stops working. Well, you trade 1/2 of the battery capacity for 3/4 of the cost. A good deal? In the shooting field, you may have twice the chance to have to change the battery at that monemt you wish you were not, like I was. Not sure if other 3rd party batteries more or less the same issue…..
5 Stars Decent for the money
Not as good as Canon, but for the money this will work great for a backup battery! I would say it lasts about 75% as long, and have not had any problems with it.
5 Stars Works just fine – excellent value
Having a new camera for taking pictures of museum artifacts (primarily), I needed spare batteries to “feed my flash.” Problem was that the OEM battery (Canon) was ~$70 USD each which would reduce the number of spares I could pack. Also, the OEM charger was AC only, so would not allow for recharging while in transit. Opteka to the rescue! Inexpensive batteries and a dual AC & DC charger fit my needs exactly. I used the batteries for all day shooting of museum aircraft (lots of flash usage) and they performed at least as well as the OEM battery. Recharging was quick also, being less than 90 minutes in the car, so I could always have charged batteries on hand. Excellent value and performance overall, highly recommended for the amateur photog, perhaps even for the pro. Didn’t try the Opteka batteries in the Canon wall-charger as I was the Opteka charger, so cannot comment on capability. I recommend the charger & battery combination anyway because of the DC car plug.
5 Stars Better than I expected
Been using this battery now for over 3 months with my T1i.
Holds its charge a looong time. I haven’t timed it, but it feels at least twice as long as the standard battery.
…and you can’t beat the price.
Advice: if you’re looking to get an extra battery, get this one.
1 Star The marked voltage worries me a great deal
The Canon Xsi ships with, and is rated for, a 7.4v battery. This is listed as 7.2v on the box, the battery and on the Opteka website. I was told by a Marketplace Vendor that the 7.2v is a “misprint,” but there is no way of truly knowing and it’s enough to make me worry. I’d hate to damage a $$$$ camera over a $ battery. This one is going in the garbage and I’m going with the Canon Equivalent LP-E5 Battery which is marked with the correct information (7.4v!), has a solid reputation, and is currently selling for a better-than-amazon price on Diamondback Battery’s website.
