5 Stars Reliable Friend
I bought the Canon LP-E5 battery because I was going on an important photo trip and didn’t want any issue with quality. This battery did not fail me. In fact, it went longer than stated. I’ll stick with this battery in the future rather than use second rate batteries.
5 Stars Canon Battery
Received as ordered, competitive price & works fine. Was on time so am very satisfied.
5 Stars Good battery, but you may as well get the Bag kit.
The battery itself is a commodity and runs up to $70 bucks, so you may as well get the Canon Rebel EOS (or your model) bag kit with Battery and filter. It cost at minimum $99, but the bag is waterproof and durable. I knew a secondary battery would be needed, but after checking the prices and realizing I need a bag it was a no brainer.
5 Stars Right on time. Thanks.
Thanks for getting this to me right when I needed it. I will keep you in mind for future purchases.
5 Stars Great battery life!
I bought this as a spare for my Canon Rebel XSI. I can take over 500 pictures no sweat without even considering swapping for a backup battery. Also the battery charge last for a while.
Canon LC E5 Battery Charger for Canon LP E5 Li Ion Batteries

The Canon LC-E5 Battery Charger can charge an LP-E5 battery pack with a charging time of about 120 minutes. When in use, the charger performs battery capacity calibration so that the remaining battery level can be indicated accurately when used in the EOS series digital cameras.

1 Star battery charger overpriced
Your publicity says the Canon battery charger LC-E5 retail is priced at $98. I have never seen one that high. The highest I have seen is $60 at Best Buy and a local photography store.
5 Stars perfect
I lost my battery and search all over for one that was the same (brand name, cheaper than normal market, and quality), found this with amazon, could not be more perfect, the battery came grap up in it original box, brand new, also happy with delivery was very fast, would recomend.
5 Stars Great Product
We needed to replace our charger that we lost on a family trip…the charger works great and now we can actually use our camera!
5 Stars Retail outlest either don’t stock or overprice these items
I lost my extra battery and original charger and went looking for the Cannon replacements at Best Buy, Wal Mart and other retail outlets. If I was fortunate to find the battery, it was at a minimum – SEVENTY-THREE DOLLARS and the “Digipower” comparable was only eight dollars cheaper! The battery charger simply didn’t exist – only the “comparable” chargers were available and they were from $53.00 to $70.00 retail. Then, I searched Amazon. This bundle of the Cannon battery, charger and an 8 gig card for 112.00 beats the comparables alone, without the memory card. Don’t know where Wayne shopped, but if he can beat this price, God bless you!
Oh, by the way, left my charger and battery in The Ocean Beach Club in Virginia Beach – tried calling as soon as I got home – the evening of the day I checked out and got an automated answer only. No response to voice mail, messages, writing or e-mails so someone there has my originals causing the search in the first place. Boycott that resort!!!! This I throw in for free.

The Opteka LP-E5 rechargeable lithium-ion 1800mAh battery is a replacement for replacement for Opteka LP-E5. It features lithium technology, which ensures maximum battery life and maximum power. It also features no memory effect that lets you recharge partially drained batteries without reducing performance.

2 Stars got what you paid for
Fully charged it after some use of it already and seems as if it has the memory effect. The XSi camera’s battery icon shows it has at least half of the juice left before the camera stops working. Well, you trade 1/2 of the battery capacity for 3/4 of the cost. A good deal? In the shooting field, you may have twice the chance to have to change the battery at that monemt you wish you were not, like I was. Not sure if other 3rd party batteries more or less the same issue…..
5 Stars Decent for the money
Not as good as Canon, but for the money this will work great for a backup battery! I would say it lasts about 75% as long, and have not had any problems with it.
5 Stars Works just fine – excellent value
Having a new camera for taking pictures of museum artifacts (primarily), I needed spare batteries to “feed my flash.” Problem was that the OEM battery (Canon) was ~$70 USD each which would reduce the number of spares I could pack. Also, the OEM charger was AC only, so would not allow for recharging while in transit. Opteka to the rescue! Inexpensive batteries and a dual AC & DC charger fit my needs exactly. I used the batteries for all day shooting of museum aircraft (lots of flash usage) and they performed at least as well as the OEM battery. Recharging was quick also, being less than 90 minutes in the car, so I could always have charged batteries on hand. Excellent value and performance overall, highly recommended for the amateur photog, perhaps even for the pro. Didn’t try the Opteka batteries in the Canon wall-charger as I was the Opteka charger, so cannot comment on capability. I recommend the charger & battery combination anyway because of the DC car plug.
5 Stars Better than I expected
Been using this battery now for over 3 months with my T1i.
Holds its charge a looong time. I haven’t timed it, but it feels at least twice as long as the standard battery.
…and you can’t beat the price.
Advice: if you’re looking to get an extra battery, get this one.
1 Star The marked voltage worries me a great deal
The Canon Xsi ships with, and is rated for, a 7.4v battery. This is listed as 7.2v on the box, the battery and on the Opteka website. I was told by a Marketplace Vendor that the 7.2v is a “misprint,” but there is no way of truly knowing and it’s enough to make me worry. I’d hate to damage a $$$$ camera over a $ battery. This one is going in the garbage and I’m going with the Canon Equivalent LP-E5 Battery which is marked with the correct information (7.4v!), has a solid reputation, and is currently selling for a better-than-amazon price on Diamondback Battery’s website.
