Remote switch is useful to prevent camera shake for super telephoto shots, macrophotography, and bulb exposures. The RS-80N3 remote switch works just like a shutter button, enabling halfway or complete pressing. It also has a shutter-release lock.

4 Stars Because You Need It
OK, no idea why the price is [...] for this. I plaid 25 for my Nikon MCDC2 remote that is excactly the same as this and I thought that was to much. The handle is a bit larger which I like, but dislike the “flex” in the plastic. also the cord is about 2 inches shorter than my Nikon remote.
Besides that it does what it suppose to do and should last a while with normal use. Though would not say strong build, I don’t think it will break to easily even though it is all plastic. I do recommend this product, as I think a remote is essential to any photo set-up, but c’mon they really should just include it with the camera. They pay what a buck, if, that to make it? Atleast drop the price to 10 or so for us, who already paid out a fortune for your camera.
5 Stars Canon RS-80N3 Remote Switch
If you use any of the associated Canon cameras you already know the value of a remote switch. I like to use natures soft light which usually means using lower shutter speeds or higher ISO’s, which I prefer not to use if possible. Avoid shakey stills.
5 Stars Very effective tool.
It works great; the remote does exactly what I wanted it to do. I started taking long exposure shots and found that holding the shutter release for 2 or more minutes became tedious. This Remote Switch works as advertised. I especially like the feature that allows you to keep the shutter depressed without holding the release button on the remote. Once you press the button you can slide the release button forward and it will hold the position until you select to release it. I have taken 6 minute exposures and this feature really came in handy.
Once I began using the remote I found that it was effective not only in the long exposure shots but in many of my architectural, landscape and portrait shots. Standing back from the camera and viewing “outside the view finder” and more than the “Live View” helps me better compose the shot. The remote is very effective in those situations.
Seems like the construction is solid enough, it easily connects to the remote outlet on my Canon 50D.
The only drawback is you are tied to a wire. Also, it might have been nice for Canon to supply a little bag or case in which to store the switch. The wireless remote might be my move up.
5 Stars Canon RS-80N3 Remote Switch
This is my second purchase of this product. The first was ruined by sand at the beach after having worked without problem for years. Have had no problem otherwise, it works just fine and I would not consider taking a macro photograph without it. While I was waiting for delivery I had to use the time delay on my camera and boy is that a waste of time. With this you hit the button and your picture is taken without shake. I wish the cord was a bit longer but it has not really been a problem.
4 Stars Works fine
Another official accessory that could stand to be cheaper considering what it does. At least it works fine and will get you shake free images. Really could use a longer cord.

5 Stars Strongest shoe flash!
Gotta love this flash for the power it packs!
I’ve owned this device for over a year and a half, and along with it, i have the Canon ST-E2 wireless transmitter.
There is so much i can do with them both combined.
But just as is, the 580EXII is great for close portraits, indoors or outdoors as fill light.
Dont expect this speedlite to operate like the 430EX and 430EXII with the Pocket Wizards.
The 580EXII isnt compatible with the PW and it cannot really do wireless through walls like the PW. For this speedlite, with use of the Canon ST-E2, both infrared lights must meet in order for the flash to be fired wirelessly.
5 Stars Great Flash!!
this flash brings a new world for your photography. Great quality and structure. The battery life is excellent, i did a complete photo shoot for models with only one pack of batteries.
5 Stars great flash
I buy this flash to replace my 380EX for 5D. It is very powerful, accurate TTL, fast recycling.
5 Stars Great Flash
This flash is a great flash. The other night, My wife and I heard something in the trees behind our house. I grabbed my Canon t1i and this flash and my 55-250mm lens. Started taking pictures at the area where the sound was coming from. Sure enough, there were 2 raccoons way up in the trees. this flash was able to pick them off from about 200mm in the tree. Great Flash!
5 Stars AWESOME~!
The old flash I had was a 420 EX and I didn’t get the best lighting from it. Once I got the 580ExII everything changed. It is such a powerful flash, I love everything about it.

5 Stars Canon XSi
This camera is a great camera for DSLR beginners. It is very easy to use and takes very good pictures.
4 Stars Awesome camera kit, nice job Canon!!
I’m very satisfied with this camera. I’m a fine art painter and digital concept artist so I take tons of reference images. It offers all I need for now, i’ll upgrade to a higher end Canon or Nikon when I get the dough.
PROS
great image quality
accurate color
nice functions
large preview screen
lightweight for a digital SLR
good value EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens, images are clear and crisp
CONS
ISO speed only goes to 1600, not very ideal for night photography
Zoom with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens isn’t that great
5 Stars Great Buy – Trust Amazon !
Purchase for my 16 yr old – living out of state – needed the camera faster than the expected ship date, I sent the email saying I needed it, it came the next day. The camera is better than I expected. the service great. I paid hundreds more for my D-SLR and it was a lesser version – This is a good buy
5 Stars Great camera, but never received from Amazon
Well, I originally ordered the camera through Amazon on the 11th of Sept., it was scheduled for delivery on the 22nd. October 2nd comes and still without the unit, carrier (USPS) showed item was in “arrival scan” status at a location the whole time. Contacted Amazon to cancel order and refund, it’s now the 12th of Oct. and still no camera or refund on account. I ended up ordering the camera from n*w*gg for about $50 cheaper, just so happens they had a promo going on, 10% off all DSLR’s.
My rating above is not for the service, but for the camera.
On to the product, I love the camera so far. I am just getting into photos, so my photo skills are not quite up to par. Using this camera makes taking photos a snap and they come out great. Quick response to capture those precious moments of your first child.
5 Stars Great camera for the money
I’ve had the camera for about a month and have taken several hundred photos in different environments (outdoor, indoor and action). It does a great job in all areas and the battery life is super… charged it the day I got it and have yet to have to recharge it. The only issue with the camera is either the memory card that I bought or the camera itself… it seems to get hung up sometimes when reviewing photos and sometimes when taking a picture it gets a glitch so you have to shut the camera off and take the memory card out and put it back in, then everything is fine. Great camera for the money!!! If you buy an extra lens for it spend the $400 for the better Canon lens as the $275 (55-275) telephoto I bought doesn’t give as clear of picture as the lens that came with the camera.
