Sto Fen Omni Bounce for the Canon 580EX Flash

The Omni-Bounce creates a Diffused Bare Bulb Effect. Giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format. (And equal in other formats as well.) The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and goes onto and off of your flash in seconds with custom fitting, except UNI, and No Velcro. 5 Stars EXCELLENT!
Love it, has worked so well with my 580EXII, putting it on is kinda scary as you have to apply quite a bit of force but with the proper grip from your other hand it will be just fine over and over. it does change the color temp a bit, but let me tell ya, this thing was a life save for some difficult lighting situations.

definitely worth the buy.

5 Stars I hate flash
This little plastic thing does make flash more acceptable, I’ll have to admit. I’m just really very, very sorry I can’t seem to come up with a way top sell a simple peice of (extremely useful) plastic at God only knows what % profit.

5 Stars It does what it does very well
I really like this diffuser. It looks a lot more professional than what I was using, which was a piece of gray tupperware with some velcro stuck to it which I then attached to my flash by more velcro.

It helps a lot to avoid harsh shadows caused by an undiffused flash.

I’d definitely buy another one if I lose or break this one somehow.

5 Stars OmniBounce flash diffuser.
Does a great job softening flash images. It fits the Canon 580EX quite smoothly.

4 Stars Helps sometime, doesn’t hurt
Does yield a more uniform lighting sometimes. Other times makes no difference. Note the instruction does say this thing will cut back the flash distance by a factor of 2.5, so use accordingly. The instruction also mention you need to pull and loosen the diffuser before putting it on the 580ex II, I only have a 580 so did not need to do that.

Opteka Universal Studio Soft Box Flash Diffuser for Canon EOS Nikon Olympus Pentax Sony Sigma and Other External Flash Units

A dramatic, eye catching photo can mean dramatic profits. Getting a well exposed photo is extremely important. Photographers often turn to a flash to help light the scene. The problem is that flash can cause harsh reflections or glare spots or create deep shadows that distract viewers. This little, portable universal external flash diffuser will prevent those problems when using a flash. Simply put the unit over the camera’s flash, point and shoot. The light will be softened and your photos will be well exposed, without the harsh glare spots.

4 Stars It’s cheap. It works.
I bought this to have something that’d look somewhat decent while shooting a wedding. Didn’t end up using it there, but I have used it in other contexts, so I can say that it certainly does what it’s supposed to.

Diffusers aren’t terribly hard to make if you’re on a tight budget. Wax paper can work wonders, but it looks tacky. So, when you need something for presentation but don’t want to shell out the cash for a flash-specific diffuser, this will fit the bill.

The first thing I noticed was the typo on the instructions – instead of “Friction” it says “Frivtion”. No big deal, but obviously lends to the fact that it’s cheap, and you’re getting what you pay for.

This isn’t going to hold up to abuse, and I’d honestly be a little worried if I were using this in anything like a sporting event or when shooting a band. In those contexts, I’d recommend something a little more solid. Still, it’s cheap, easy to use, and works great in a pinch.

Recommend it? Yes, if you just want something that’ll fit on a bunch of flashes. Don’t buy it for a regular diffuser, though, as it may not last long.

Prolight Inverted Cloud Dome Flash Diffuser System for Canon 550EX 580EX 580EX II Pentax AF 540FGZ and Sigma EF 500 and EF 530 Flash Units

The Lightpro Dome diffuser is a large, round, soft and flexible diffuser that slips over the front of compatible flash units. The inside of the dome is completely textured to make the light dispersion even more “soft” than it would be otherwise. And because of this design, it is possible to make the material more translucent, keeping the unit from losing a lot of light while actually increasing the diffusion and softness of light. The included inverted dome allows you to softly diffuse direct light with a large, soft source without creating flare on the front of your lens.

4 Stars Cloud Dome diffuser
Works well. I usually use this in portrait evening shots with the sun setting in the background. At these times, this add a good fill-in flash without looking like a flash was used.

Soft plastic becomes distorted when stored. But once installed on flash and cap is put on, it forms back to its spherical shape.

4 Stars It works
It’s pretty loose on my 430 EX II, but fits great on my 580 EX II…

The light is great… diffuse and gives a nice glow. I use this for events and have been happy with it thus far.

And for quite a bit cheaper than Fong diffuser, which is an overpriced piece of modified tupperware…

2 Stars Not to impressed
When i put this on my camera I thought it would soften the look of my pictures. It just made them a little darker. Picture with out this product came out fine.

1 Star doesnt work??
when it thach the elctric pins it doesnt pop up it think its the out flash garbage

5 Stars Nice little extra
Sometimes this little gadget softens when I need it. I think for the money it is a nice little extra to carry around. You might have a shot that turns out just the way you liked without all the bulkiness of carrying something bigger to do the same thing. Worth the money.

1 Star did not fit my canon xti
i DRILLED the thing apart trying to prevent it from preventing the flash from going off at all. when i was done, the thing wouldn’t stay in the hole. garbage for me. the plastic was strong as hell, i’ll give it that. but if you have an xti, this won’t work.
