5 Stars Lasts a lot longer than you think… and OEM ink is definitely the best
I have owned 4 Canon inkjet printers, and have a lot of experience with the individual ink tank system Canon uses. I can say with confidence that the BCI-6 and BCI-3 series ink tanks can print quite a bit longer than the software tells you they can. Once all the ink in the reserve tank (not in the sponge) is used up a sensor sends an “Ink Low” message to the software, which then starts counting pages. Whether or not you actually use that color much for the next X number of pages you will still get an “Out of ink” error and a warning that you could damage your printer if you continue to print. Take the ink tank out and visually inspect it. In most cases you can just hit the “Continue” button (or its equivalent on your printer model) and print several more pages (depending on size and whether you’re printing photos or on plain paper). Just be sure to visually inspect the tank every few pages because you don’t want it to run completely dry, that could indeed damage your print head.
I have been using a Canon i9900 for over 2 years and printed hundreds of photos and 11×17 high-resolution pages, and have never had the print head clog using Canon ink. It’s definitely worth it to buy your printer manufacturer’s ink, whether you use a Canon, HP, Lexmark, Epson…
5 Stars Works Just As Advertised…
With gas prices these days, might as well buy them online. I ordered 3 of them with Amazon and got them within 2 days – pretty good. If you buy 3 or more, you get the free shipping which also saves money.
1 Star Unbelieveable
The Product is great! I just never got what I ordered. After 3 tries I finally gave up.
5 Stars canon ink
Alway happy with my canon ink, because it works the best with my canon printer

1 Star Dead ink cartridge
I ordered this Magenta cartridge and the Cyan cartridge at the same time.
The Magenta cartridge was dead on arrival. It contains ink, but the ink is not being absorbed by the material above it and this color does not print.
The Cyan cartridge is working normally.
I haven’t tried to return the Magenta cartridge because the nuisance of packing and cost of shipping to Amazon isn’t worth it.
5 Stars Outstanding Ink
We are 100% impressed with our Canon MX850 printer, and this Cyan ink purchase for it. The ink cartridges last down to the smallest drop, no waste, the best printer and ink we have purchased. We highly recommend the printer and its accompanying inks. You will use the printer so much that you will buy the affordable inks, as each color is needed, not all at once. Excellent product.
5 Stars Great service, quick shipment
The customer service is excellent! My item was initially shipped to my old address (I moved recently) and it was not forwarded to my new address. I called customer support and they sent another to my new address at no extra charge and I received it in great time. I will definitely do business with them again. The prices and shipping costs were great!
5 Stars Canon CLI-8C Ink Tank – Cyan
I use the CLI-8C Cyan Ink Tank for my Canon IP4200. All my ink tanks typically get used up at almost the same rate on the Canon IP4200 so I usually just order the Canon CLI-8 4-Color Multipack Ink Tanks package, which consists of: Cyan CLI-8C (this ink tank), Yellow CLI-8Y, Magenta CLI-8M, and CLI-8Bk Black.
*If you need all 4 colors, the Canon CLI-8 4-Color Multipack Ink Tanks is a much better deal.*
Quality
——-
The CLI-8 ink tanks produce pleasing tones and true-to-life colors for photos. I find that the high quality photo prints rival those from the photo lab.
Compatibility
————-
The CLI-8C, CLI-8M, CLI-8Y, and CLI-8Bk Ink Tanks are compatible with the Canon IP and MP Inkjets. DO NOT confuse these ink tanks with the closely-named CLI-8P ink tank series: CLI-8PC and CLI-8PM – these ink tanks are NOT NECESSARILY compatible with your printer. If you have a 5-tank printer, chances are the CLI-8PC and CLI-8PM aren’t compatible with your printer!
Value
—–
I stint on ink and print my documents almost exclusive in grayscale at the DRAFT quality mode (my Canon IP4200 printer uses the CLI-8 color cartridges even though I don’t print in color). I can get about a full ream’s worth of paper (double-sided) on 1 cartridge. However, with higher quality printer, the color ink cartridges get consumed much more quickly.
It is evident from the reviews that the price of ink is a major concern for most people. You should ideally use only genuine Canon ink cartridges but if you’re strapped for cash, you can purchase the cheaper generic versions (non-OEM) of the CLI-8 cartridges.
- CLI-8 4-Pack
- CLI-8 Magenta
- CLI-8 Cyan <-- non-OEM equivalent of this cartridge (Canon CLI-8C)
- CLI-8 Yellow
- CLI-8 Black
I have not verified that they do in fact work as claimed so try them at your own risk!
Bottom Line
———–
The Canon CLI-8C/M/Y/BK ink cartridges may be expensive, but they deliver consistently high quality text and photo prints.
3 Stars Canon MP830 printer ink
My husband insisted on the Canon printer because it’s supposed to print better quality photos. What we didn’t know was that we had to get Canon photo paper; it will not print correctly on Kodak or other photo papers. That aside, the printer ink colors are OK, but the printer goes through more ink than any HP printer I’ve ever owned. The ink is fine, the printer just seems to run out too quickly, particularly the cyan and magenta colors.

4 Stars Good product, but….
Printing a lot less color prints, because of price. Never thought I’d try generic ink, but taking a chance.
1 Star Wrong Ink Cartridge
I used Amazon’s Ink & Toner finder for my MP600. I was shipped the 8PM model when I actually needed the 8M. I opened the package and now I can’t return it so I’m out $15. Don’t trust the ink finder. It said that the 8PM was for my MP600 printer.
1 Star Fix your “will this fit my printer?” gizmo please, Amazon
Having read the arguments as to whether people were reading the product information incorrectly or what, I thought I would try the “will this fit my printer?” gizmo. It told me that this product *will* fit my printer (a Pixma iP4300) when it WILL NOT.
So, Amazon, sort your gizmo as it is actively misleading your customers.
3 Stars Amazon says this is the right tank for my printer: It isn’t!
There has been a lot of criticism here of people who’ve complained that they ordered the wrong tank, i.e., a CLI-8PM, when they should have ordered a CLI-8M. Well the same thing happened to me. And guess what? On the page where the tank is displayed, Amazon has a box which says:
“Will this work with my printer?” It then (somehow) correctly figures out what printer I have and announces: “Yes, this will work with the Canon iP5200R printer.” Well, it won’t.
I had to spend $9.99 with Canon tech support last night to find out why my printer wasn’t recognizing my new tank from Amazon. The answer was it WON’T work in the iP5200R. Yes, I probably should have paid more attention, but Amazon pointed me to this tank and told me it would work.
So, this is supposed to be a review of the ink. Ok. I’ve had this printer for nearly four years and it makes beautiful prints. But the ink tanks drain rapidly, even when you’re not using color. I think this occurs because of the automatic cleaning cycle before printing. Also, the ink tanks have plenty of ink remaining when the entire printer shuts down and demands you get a new tank. You can’t even print a letter if, for instance, any of the color tanks are “empty.” So I give the ink quality five stars, but drop it by two stars for the excessive ink use and the way it shuts down until all tanks are refilled, even when they’re far from empty.
Amazon needs to get its act together on this. It’s not worth it for me to return a fifteen dollar leaky ink tank. Instead I’m going out today to buy an HP. I’ve had enough of Canon’s ink shenanigans.
1 Star Don’t Trust Amazon’s Ink and Toner Finder tool
I checked Amazon’s Ink and Toner Finder tool or the Will This Work with Your Printer? tool that appears with the Ink description according to that the Ink i ordered works with my Printer, After ordering receiving this Ink tank and installing on my printer, a Canon MX700 the Ink tank was not recognized…. Instead of the CLI-8PM I Needed the CLI-8M, but Amazon’s tool still shows that this is the correct Ink for my printer when It is not… Now I can’t return the ink as I opened the box.

1 Star Does not work with Canon MP980
I ordered a Canon MP980 printer and purchased the recommended ink 4 pack CLI- 8. The cartridges are much too big and now 9 months later, I found that out. Luckily, Amazon will let me return it.
5 Stars long lasting
Very happy with the Pixima i4200 that uses this ink. Cannon inks last a long time.
5 Stars Just what I ordered and a great price
This pack came quickly and was exactly what I needed for our printer. I will order more when the time comes.
5 Stars Canon Ink CLI-8 4Color tanks
My husband and I have been purchasing these ink cartridges since we bought our Canon four in one printer, two and a have years ago. These have been great along with purchasing the two larger black tanks. The cartridges are easy to install and simple with no mess. On one occasion I had one color not work as our printer couldn’t detect that I had installed a new cartridge, however, as I keep an additional supply on hand, I simply put in a different one and was back in action.
Amazon has been a great supplier in identifying the best price for this product and we will continue to use it while we have our Canon Printer.
5 Stars So far so good
I received the ink tanks in a timely fashion, as promised. They appear to be in good shape; packaging was intact and appears genuine. I haven’t yet actually inserted either of the tanks, so can not yet comment on performace/quality, but previous products purchased from this vendor have been good.
Canon CLI 8 8 Color Multipack Ink Tanks

Canon CLI-8 is a multi-pack of eight high-capacity color ink cartridges that use long-lasting ink for vivid coloration and high glossiness when printed on Canon photo papers. 5 Stars Canon Quality from top to bottom!
I purchased the Canon CLI-8 eight color multi-pack for my Canon Pixma Pro 9000. As usual the cartridges are sealed in plastic and fresh. The color across the whole line was constant with no color drifting as you find in some other brands. I can’t compare them to non OEM, but I don’t plan to use non Canon ink. All and all I am very happy with Canon ink and my photographs benefit from them. My only dislike is the size of the cartridge , as it carries a small amount of ink.
5 Stars Canon Cl8
Great deal with Amazon. Nothing like the original.
Color is sharp and great for professional work.
1 Star DO NOT ORDER IF YOU HAVE A PIXMA MX 850 or 860 (or certain other canon printers)
If you go to the web page for the MX 850 or 860 and click on the link for ink cartridges, it takes you to this box of cartridges. While this package looks like a good deal based on the price, this is the ink cartridge set for another line of Canon printers. Half of the cartridges in this box do not work on the 850/860 line of printers.
5 Stars canon multi pack inks
Best way to buy these cartridges, the price is getting too high to buy them singly. Saved over $40 ….
5 Stars Great ink – but way too expensive
Love Canon printers, but those teensy little cartridges don’t last very long and are extremely costly. This limits the number of prints I make at home versus what I have printed commercially. Canon – BRING YOUR INK PRICES DOWN! Don’t shop for ink at Staples – they sell one cartridge for $17!
