The Zeikos Power grip for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II is the perfect solution for doubling your shooting time. It holds either 2 LP-E6 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable batteries or 6 AA batteries. It has a vertical firing release with a lock and dramatically improves stability. It has a 1 year warranty.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars High-Quality, Low-Cost Alternative
Like you, I wanted a grip for my 5DII, but couldn’t stomach shelling out three times the cost of this grip for one. Since the Canon grip was out of the question for me due to it’s price, I took a chance on this grip from Zeikos, figuring I could resell it if unhappy and not lose too much. I am not disappointed and will be keeping it. It’s actually much higher quality than I expected for the price, has all the features of the Canon grip (AA battery tray, slot for battery door, all the same buttons repeated, shows all the battery information [shutter count and percentage] on the body, etc.), and actually makes the camera+grip look more like a one-piece unit since there is no additional text on the front of the grip. The only badging is on the bottom of the unit. The rubber, as mentioned in another review, is softer than the Canon grip, and I think it’s actually better – grippier and more comfortable. I had the Canon grip for my 40D and the only noticeable difference that I could see was that the wheel that you use to tighten down the grip to the body is slightly looser than the Canon. Once tightened, however, it’s very solid and does not flex or bend at all. I would highly recommend this grip to anyone who is looking for a high-quality, low-cost alternative to the Canon BG-E6 and would rather spend the savings on lenses. That’s me, and I suspect that might just be you, too.

5 Stars Less expensive then Canon product and it works GREAT!
This product works GREAT and is MUCH cheaper than the Canon product. I’m still stinging from the grip Canon sent for the 20D which never did work properly,

5 Stars Value for money
I have not used Canon Battery Grip for Canon 5D Mark II, but with this price and quality i say, its worth the buy for any canon 5d mark ii user, who is looking for a battery grip, its very light without batter, comes with a quick user guide and simple box packing!

with in 100USD its a deal not worth missing

5 Stars Indistinguishable (to me) from Canon
I very rarely purchase non canon products for my Canon EOS camera systems, but I took a chance on this one based on all the positive reviews. I was not disappointed. This Battery Grip from Zeikos is a perfect fit for my Canon 5d Mark II, and appears to have all the functionality as the Canon Grip. It is well made, and has all the controls of the Canon product.

5 Stars Da Norm’s review for Zeikos Battery Grip for Canon 5D Mark 2
I tried the Canon version, but after seeing this on Amazon, I returned the Canon grip and purchased the Zeikos instead. The only difference that I can tell is the price, the name, and some noticeable cosmetic difference. I would love to drop $250 on the Canon one, but with the new 100mm L Macro coming out, I can spend $160 on a new lens. There’s a debate on the internet that talks about buying expensive accessories for your expensive camera system. I disagree with that. You find what works for you and your budget.

Right now, Amazon is selling it for $91. Get the free shipping. It took about a week, but it’s here and in wonderful condition. Snap it on, and it works right away. The controls and the buttons function like the Canon one that I have used. I posted some pictures on the grip. I hope you can see what it looks like with the camera. Also, I picked up a replacement battery from Bargain Cell. It works just as well as the Canon version, but does not work with the battery meter. I save about $60. The hand strap I got from a local shop in Nashville, TN. I spent $30. You can find it for $5 less on Amazon.

Lenmar DLC5L Lithium ion Digital Camera Camcorder Battery Equivalent to the Canon NB 5L Battery

for use with Canon PowerShot SD700 IS and SD800 IS * rated capacity: 3.7 volts, 1120mAh *

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars You can trust Lenmar batteries
I use several Lenmar replacement batteries for a handful of point-and-shoot digital cameras. IMO, there is no reason to pay for the excessively high-priced original equipment batteries. Lenmar batteries are the equivalent in form, function and performance. Whether I expect to shoot 100 or 1,000 pictures, I will always use — with confidence — my Lenmar batteries as the primary batteries in my cameras or as the back-up batteries.

1 Star Not worth the price
Don’t waste your money. This battery won’t hold a charge anywhere near as good as a Canon battery. The warrantee is useless since you have to pay shipping to return the battery, and pay again to have the replacement shipped. Shipping both ways costs more than the Amazon.com price for this battery!

Update 7-20-2009: After commenting to Lenmar about the above, they did decide to send a replacement without me having to send the old one back, or pay shipping on the new one. Hopefully it’ll work better.

1 Star Lenmar Not Compatable with Canon supplied charger
The Lenmar battery supplied did not take a charge from the Canon battery charger CB-2LX supplied with the camera. Finding this to be the case with the battery received, I obtained permission to return it for exchange. But the second battery also did not take a charge. Digital Media Source has been very good to work with in readily accepting the exchange of the first battery and the return of the second battery.

5 Stars Canon alternative
Good alternative to the Canon brand. The battery life has been adequate, so far; it worked for several days of on and off shooting. It may have a slightly shorter life than the Canon brand, but for the price it is a much better value and works great for me.

5 Stars Works, well-built
I’ve not done much comparisons with the OEM Canon battery to really say this battery is as good (i.e., does it let you take the same number of pictures?).

But, it does work, it recharges quickly, and the battery is a solid piece of plastic (unlike most third-party batteries, which tend to be cheaply built). It’s a great battery to keep as a spare.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Works great
I bought this for a new Canon T1i and it works great. The car charger is a nice touch. I can’t say that it lasts twice as long as the Canon battery, but it lasts at least as long.

5 Stars Opteka LP-E5
Bought this as an additional battery for my Canon Xsi, the extra charger was just a bonus but a bonus that turned out to be even better then expected, not only is it an AC charger but also comes with the vehicle charger adaptor as well as the universal charger adaptor for over-seas.

5 Stars Worked great!
Having a new camera for taking pictures of museum artifacts (primarily), I needed spare batteries. Problem was that the OEM battery was ~$70 USD each which would reduce the number of spares I could pack. Also, the OEM charger was AC only, so would not allow for recharging while in transit. Opteka to the rescue! Inexpensive batteries and a dual AC & DC charger fit my needs exactly. I used the batteries for all day shooting of museum aircraft (which means lots of flash usage) and they performed at least as well as the OEM battery. Recharging was quick also, being less than 90 minutes in the car, so I could always have charged batteries on hand. Excellent value and performance overall, highly recommended for the amateur photog, perhaps even for the pro.

5 Stars Perfect battery clone!
Holds the charge for ever. Fits the Canon Rebel XSi perfectly (just like the original batter). Excellent option over the pricey Canon one.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Replacement Batteries
Lenmar makes One of the best replacement batteries.I have used their batteries for years and never had A problem.I love the price compared to the Canon batteries.I will continue to puechase Lennmar Batteries for all my cameras

1 Star Poor fit
The battery does not slide freely out of the battery bay on my T1i when I try to remove it. The only way to get it out is to use a thin blade (e.g., a swiss knife) to ease it out.

I’m not saying that they’re all like this one (perhaps I got a bum one that is slightly too fat), but the risk of this happening with another one is just not worth the $20-30 savings over a Canon battery.

5 Stars Cheaper but works as well as the Canon in my T1i
I used this battery in my Canon Rebel T1i (EOS500D), which is new enough to not be listed on the battery package explicitly. The batt fit the camera (and in its charger) perfectly. Lifespan seemed comparable to the Canon original (ran both from full to empty in similar shooting conditions, though I didn’t count how many shots I got from each).

So far, so good. For half the price of the Canon original part, highly recommended.

5 Stars Replacement Battery for Canon Xsi SLR
The battery is a direct replacement (size and voltage ) for the Canon battery. Works fine for half the price.

5 Stars Just as good if not better then the the canon
I bought this for 18 bucks rather then 50 for the canon and i’m glad I did. It lasts just as long if not longer and It fit even easier then the original canon that came with my camera. If I ever need another I will for sure buy this brand again!
