5 Stars Very impressive quality!!!
I purchased this paper to give it a try on my Pixma Pro 9000 printer. I generally don’t like photos printed on glossy paper as I prefer a semi gloss or lustre finish. I print a lot of 13 x 19 photos. Anyhow I printed out some wildlife pictures shot in Africa and was blown away by both the depth of the color and the sharpness of the images. I wish I could show you a sample of the output as a picture is worth a thousand words in this situation. I can highly recommend this paper for the pixma pro 9000. I can’t speak to how it might perform on other printers as I haven’t tried it on any others but on the pro 9000 I would have to give it an A+. Yes, it is expensive $$$, but if the output is important enough it’s worth the price.
5 Stars Excellent paper — and cheap on Amazon
The Pro Platinum paper is extraordinary. Paired with a Pixma Pro 9000, it produces stunning art-quality prints.
It is A++.
One caveat however — this paper is probably overkill on a “standard” inkjet printer and probably a waste of money. Go with Glossy II paper for a normal printer I think.
One other note — the real cost of printing is INK, not paper, even at this level of quality. Act accordingly.
5 Stars Superb photos
This paper brings out remarkable detail in my photographs. The print outs from my Canon Pro9000 Mark II on Canon Photo Paper Plus have been excellent and superior to what I have had come out on Epson and HP papers on their respective printers. Platinum Paper Pro brings out an astonishing level of detail compared side by side to Canon Photo Paper Plus.
5 Stars Photos with a Punch!!!
I have a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 MK II. Up until now, my output has been on Canon Photorag paper. I bough this to see how the output would do with a glossy paper….. I was blown away!!!! The photos almost jump off the paper!! The colors are amazing!!! The black and white photos are contrasty and accurate! This paper will deliver fantastic output. You will not be disappointed!!!
5 Stars A Truly Great Paper
Consistently rich with depth and clarity. It is also heavy with maximum resistance to wrinkling. Canon claims exceptional archival properties. I will write a followup in 200 years and let you know.

5 Stars True Pro Photo Paper!
This Pro Photo Paper is the best I have ever used. I have a lot to do with photography and the pictures I print on this paper to use in my portfolio is amazing. There is no finer photo paper!! If you want the best looking pictures this is hands down the best paper to show off your work, or just to have photos hanging around on your walls.
5 Stars It works well
We recently purchased the Canon MP980 and this paper. The pictures are Awesome. The paper looks, feels and handles well. I looked at the other papers that were cheaper but I want my photos to look their best and not like I saved a couple bucks because I am cheap. The photos on this paper look WOW!
5 Stars excellent detail
I download images of coins and print them for a research project. My Canon IP 4600 + Pro Platinum paper produce prints as good as professional catalogs. For the first time, I’m completely satisfied with my prints. Furthermore, Canon says the paper is of archival quality, but it will take >25 years to prove this.
On the down side, the best prices I’ve found are ~$1/page and $15/cartridge(IP 4600 has 5 individual cartridges), so a high volume user might find this costs too much. The IP 4600 itself wasn’t expensive.
3 Stars Canon Photo Paper Pro Platinum 8.5″ x 11″
Get best results with Canon Photo Paper Pro II. Also a little bit less pricey. Using Canon 9000 Pixmar Pro.
Could not tell any difference that would justify the extra money spend on this type of paper.
5 Stars Awesome Paper!!!!
Great paper! Best I’ve laid my hands on! Won’t buy anything but. Using it with a Canon Pro9000!
Canon Rebel XS 10 1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF S 18 55mm f 3 5 5 6 IS Lens Black

Ideal for a wide range of photographers from first-time digital SLR users to veteran photo enthusiasts, the new Canon EOS Rebel XS camera is designed to embody what you have come to expect from the EOS Rebel series — a fast, non-intimidating, lightweight, easy-to-use camera that produces excellent images and starts emerging photographers off on the right foot. Immediately, photographers will take notice of the camera’s Optical Image Stabilized kit lens for crisp focus, compensating for camera shake from unsteady hands or a moving vehicle. The new Rebel model also incorporates Canon’s DIGIC III image processor, 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, Live View, Auto Lighting Optimizer, 7-point wide-area autofocus (AF) sensor and 3.0 frames per second continuous JPEG burst rate where the number of consecutive shots in a burst is only limited by the capacity of the flash memory card in the camera.

4 Stars First time digital SLR owner
The Canon Rebel XS is my first digital SLR camera. By no means is it my first Canon. I owned a Canon AE-1, which I was crazy about.
The camera appears to fairly well built, and you have a huge number of lenses from which to choose depending on how much you want to spend. Make sure you purchase lenses that are EF-S, you want the stabilized lenses.
I’m having a little trouble with the auto focus, but I think it’s my problem. Since I’ve only used the camera once, I need to practice more. I’ve ordered a detachable flash to go on the camera. I want the ability to bounce the flash for certain pictures.
All in all I pleased with my purchase. I’ll be even happier when I can purchase the Canon EF-S 70-250mm lense.
5 Stars Snap
Canon had never let me down! This is a great camera for both inspiring and professional photographers. It is easy to use and very reliable.
5 Stars Great camera
This is a great first DSLR. It offers just enough options to begin with, and although it has some limitations it is awesome learning tool.
3 Stars I need more of a beginner camera…..
The reviews I read before purchasing this camera made me believe this would be very easy to use and “a great beginner” camera….Although I really do love this camera, I think I need to take a class before truely getting out of it what I planned. I’m excited to have an SLR camera, but can’t use more than the “auto” mode.
5 Stars Good deal
for $500, this is a much better deal than the point and shoot canon I bought at $330 early last year. I have a toddler. The point and shoot is too slow to capture his move and smile and the details of his face. Point and shoot is very bad under low light. If you have a baby at home, if you can afford $200 extra, please get this $500 deal. I regret I did not buy it in the first place. I could have captured much better pictures when he was a little infant.

Heavyweight and beautiful! Best photo paper I have ever used! Stunning sharpness and vivid color from my Canon Pro9000 printer!
5 Stars True pro paper!!

5 Stars Doesn’t Get Better Than This
I’ve tried many of Canon’s photo paper (from glossy to matte). This is the best beyond a doubt. Superior quality. Very clear with excellent contrast. So far colors haven’t bled or even slightly smudged. Truly professional photo paper that will make your photos look incredible. Highly recommend.
4 Stars Pro Platinum review
Not a bad product. I’m using the PRO 9000 and also used Kodak Ultra and really don’t see much difference. I’m giving this a 4 out of 5 because it does perform well, providing very good color contract and color absorbtion.
While the Kodak is about the same any easy to find locally, I will be staying with the Canon to keep continuity.
Canon EF 70 200mm f 4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras
Capture the far-off action of fast-paced sports or zoom in for an intimate portrait with the Canon EF 70-200mm telephoto zoom lens. This high-performance, L-series telephoto zoom lens is distinguished by such features as an f/4 maximum aperture, an inner focusing system, and a ring-type ultra-sonic monitor (USM). The last two features combine to deliver quick and quiet autofocusing–a priority for many amateur and professional photographers. In addition, photographers can attach and use a circular polarizing filter without difficulty because the front lens element does not rotate during focusing. Compatible with the same tripod collar (sold separately) used with the EF 300mm f/4L USM lens, the lens carries a one-year warranty.
- Focal length: 70-200mm
- Maximum aperture: 1:4.0

4 Stars Worth the price
I hummed and hawwed for quite a while before buying this. My 75-300mm f4-5.6 was was too soft at 200+ and using a CP was nearly impossible. Would this lens be worth all the extra though?
I think it is, my photo’s haven’t magically leaped forward overnight but out of the 500 photos i took over the past 2 weeks (the majority with this lens) I’m happy with most of them something which never would have happened before. Those i’m not are mainly due to fast moving birds.
The build quality is very good as you’d expect. The constant f4 and internal focusing almost justifying the lens on their own in my opinion. I’ve also obtained much sharper images then i would have before, even <1/200 at full zoom.
I’m really glad i bought this, and am not even missing the IS at present.
5 Stars Your search ends here!
I have had this lens for several years. It produces color accurate pictures. It’s a great lens for portaits.
4 Stars L-series lens at non-L-series price
Fantastic lens for the price. A must have for the serious Amateur photographer. The 70-200 F4L has good length, good weight, great glass and amazing results.
While its not the most amazing lens for bokeh, it does yield pleasant results in that field as well. On a crop-body (aps-c) this lens gives an effective zoom of 112-320mm. With a F-stop range from 4 to 32, you can shoot in almost any condition and get great, sharp shots. Combine this lens with a good off-camera flash, and you can get some really great shots.
Downsides
- the AF tends to hunt
- only F/4.0
- No image stabilization
These factors are minor and easily compensated for. Because the lens is FTM, you can use your auto-focussing to get you close, and then fine-tune manually. At F4, it’s not the best lens in low-light – but with an corded or off-camera flash, you can make up for low-light. Lack of Image stabilization hasn’t prevented me from taking amazing pictures, however, I’m sure with it, I could take better.
At ~$600-700, this lens is worth every penny.
5 Stars SUPER SHARP !
So sharps, it cuts ! My thirty-some female friends are completely exposed around this lenses and now they are organized to prohibit me from using this piece of equipment around them. Let me put it this way, the results are so sharp and vivid, you can counts the number of facial wrinkles and make-up layers, NO JOKE ! Other than your thirty-some female friends, everything else will be award winning works.
5 Stars Lightweight and great for outdoors.
I am an amateur SLR user and this is my second Lens for my Canon T1i camera which came with the 18-55mm kit lens. The pictures are so sharp and clear outdoors even if I don’t use a tripod when taking shots. I could compare an L lens picture from the EF lenses output. L lenses are really worth the price.
I’ve been taking shots indoors during sports activities and this is where I think the tripod works well since this camera does not have IS on it. I did not want to spend another $400 to buy the IS version since I only use this camera on weekends during volleyball and basketball games.
Since the zoom starts at 70mm don’t expect to take close up photo shots with this lens especially indoor pictures with ease. It was designed for it’s purpose.
For the wide angle shots I just bought the 23-135mm Canon EF lens with IS. This wider angle lenses would be my walk around lens for sure.
