5 Stars What’s in a name?
Buying this was my first adventure in using name brand photo paper. Although I’ve owned a Canon Pixma 6000D printer for several years, I’d been using glossy and semi-gloss knock-off brand photo paper to save money on my many printing projects. After deciding to spring for the manufacturer’s paper, I was thrilled to discover that this paper produces vivid photo prints every time. The matte finish means almost instant drying, and no smudges or streaks. For the extra money, I save time and avoid the frustration of having to tweak the printer settings to accomodate the knock-off brands. The one disadvantage of matte paper I’ve encountered is that you need a very sharp blade in your rotary trimmer to avoid the slight fraying of the edges that will occur with a dull blade. A dull blade is more forgiving on glossy and semi-gloss, since they have a plastic-like coating, but as long as your blade is sharp, this matte paper will give you excellent prints that trim like a charm!

5 Stars MATTE PHOTO PAPER
WELL I MUST SAY I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PAPER AND BUY IT OFTEN. WE DO SOME WEDDINGS AND WE USE THIS PAPER FOR MOST ALL OUR PRINTS. THE QUALITY IS VERY EXCEPTABLE, THE PRICE IS IN KEEPING WITH MOST PEOPLES BUDGET ALLOWING US TO GIVE THEM AN AMAZEING PHOTO ALBUM WITH MOSTLY ALL 8X10 PICTURES INSTEAD OF THE USUAL 4X6. WE ALSO DO 4X6 BUT WE USE THE PHOTO GLOSSY II PHOTO PAPER SO THE NEWLY WED COUPLE CAN FILL UP THEIR PHOTO ALBUMS WITH THE 4X6 SLOTS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO BUY THIS PAPER.

1 Star Photo paper?
This is great scrap book paper.

Its heavy weight–but its not a good choice for photo paper.

I wish they had advertised that this was scrapbook paper instead of photo paper.

I ended up running to Office Depot and getting some quality photo paper…that didn’t cost me shipping ;)

5 Stars better packaging for shipping
Pleased with the product, the vendor, the price…

BUT, THE PACKAGING WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE PHOTO PAPER PACKAGE FROM BENDING.

PERHAPS NEEDS A STRONG CARDBOARD LINER

5 Stars Canon Paper
This semi gloss paper is awesome. I love it. It’s now my paper of choice for almost everything.

5 Stars paper
love this paper only wish that it was 11X14 instead, had to have photos custom framed or cut down

5 Stars THE BEST CHOICE
I print with a Canon Pro 9000 dye injet. Usually high gloss papers along with dye inks give you the brightest, most intense colors. Unfortunately, the high gloss papers have the problem of light reflection when framed under glass. Mat type papers don’t have this problem, but the colors are not as snappy and the surface of a mat paper does not hold up well to handling. I tried the Canon Semi Gloss Plus looking for a compromise and I found a real winner. The Pro 9000 just loves this paper! I’ve printed the same photo on this paper and on Canon’s Photo Paper Pro top of the line high gloss. The colors of the semi gloss plus are almost as intense as the Photo Paper Pro. This paper has just enough luster to give the photo some snap, but has much less trouble with light reflection when framed under glass than the Photo Paper Pro does. It stands up to handling so much better than a mat paper. It is resistent to smudges and fingerprints. It does an incredible job of handling the bright red colors. And best of all, Canon quotes the same time span for resistence to color change as the Photo Paper Pro when used with the new ChromaLife 100 inks: 25 years framed under glass and 100 years stored in the dark in an album or box. If you have a Canon printer using the new ChromaLife 100 inks, give this paper a try. You, too, will become a believer.

5 Stars Canon 13X19 inch semi gloss photo paper plus
I find Canon’s semi gloss just the right paper for me. It allows for saturated color and does not have the blinding gloss of the full gloss paper. Pictures on this paper tend to appear like paintings. I just wish that Canon would produce paper bigger than 13X19 for real poster size.

5 Stars Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi Gloss SG -201
For those of you who have bought this 13 x 19 Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi Gloss SG -201; Is this paper double sided by any chance? I figure that since it is not Full Gloss it might be Double sided like HP’s Brochure paper?

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Adorama will send you a used filter!
It seems like Adorama only sells used UV filters. I purchased several UV filters from them and every single one of them was used. Some of them had scratches and some showed wear and tear on the black rim of the filter. The cases that comes with the filters showed obvious signs of used and returned filter but they sent them anyways. The tape that seals the case was peeled off and had dust and junk all over them. How they didn’t see that is beyond me. What disappointed me even more was that they sent the exact same condition filters as replacement when I returned them for exchange. This particular 77mm UV filter purchased through Amazon couldn’t even be exchanged because Adorama said it was purchased through Amazon and not directly through them. They wouldn’t credit any of the shipping costs involved in the process either. I lost my time and money for purchasing items from Adorama with no merchandise in my possession. And,Customer service could care less about the whole ordeal. Adorama seemed like a reputable place but after my experience all trust and confidence are lost. I will never buy anything from them again. Be careful buying anything from Adorama and if you do, inspect the item very carefully.

1 Star Used filter posing as new?
The filter arrived in a non-sealed box. I took it abroad before checking it, but when I first opened it and held it up to the light, it was so full of smudges that it’s probably beyond cleaning. (Give new meaning to the term “haze filter”). This probably says more about the shipper (Amazon) than the manufacturer.

1 Star Received it scratched, out of box!
I received the filter and it was outside of its packaging and scratched. I haven’t even bothered trying it. They had better give me my money back is all I can say!

1 Star This filter touches the Canon 24-105 L lens in the center
The filter makes contact with the center of the Canon 24-105 L lens and hence had to discard it after using it a few times.

4 Stars A must to protect your lens
I’d give it a 5 EXCEPT where it came from it must have been sitting in a dusty environment. The filter had DUST on it in the case. I don’t know if the factory case comes sealed or not, but mine did not have a seal on it. I had to use an air pressure device to get the dust off of it (a good layer of debris).

The filter itself was in fine working condition with the exception of the thick layer of dust that managed to get inside the case.

I strongly encourage everybody with a 77mm lens to buy one to prevent damage to your lens. It’s worth the investment!
